Students of Lane Tech College Prep High School. I’d interacted with the two on each end once before. In an affectionate embrace, they were reluctant to have their picture taken. (I could have been any creep.) The photos were too underexposed to work with—but as fortune would have it, I saw them again at a bus stop weeks later with a friend, the one in the middle.

They were friendly and inquisitive this time, and agreed to give it another go. My only direction was “just be yourselves.” They effortlessly moved into this position. Voilà!
