Fruits and vegetables are great subjects for paintings. They’re colorful, and much more forgiving of inaccuracies than the human form, which allows me a little more playfulness. During the painting process they appear on the verge of springing to life like the brooms in Disney’s Fantasia. These two look like they’re getting ready to escape.
