For this painting I used natural light and blurred edges to emulate the softness of peach skin. Years prior I’d taken a still life painting course with Helen Oh, an instructor masterfully skilled in 17th century Dutch and Flemish style techniques (think Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt Van Rijn, et al.). You may see her influence here.

The nebulous quality, spherical shapes and view from above reminded me of satellite images of the solar system and rotating planets. A scientific title was apt.
