My winter 2007 soundtrack consisted of two albums played on repeat. One was PJ Harvey’s White Chalk. Its starkness cast a spell that moved the paintbrush effortlessly over the canvas.

This painting was inspired by PJ’s song, “Silence.” Need I say, “Hence the name”?
